How I stay on track – Working out at home

Missing your gym Yet? I haven’t had a gym membership for a while now and am in the best fitness level of my life. I still have weight to loose but that is a story for a different day. My fitness level is great and I am able to keep up with a lot of hard workouts and run a 5K. I have achieved all this without stepping into a gym or spending tons of money. I would like to share how I did this with you since some of you might be looking to do some more working out than just walking (nothing wrong with walking I still doit everyday).

I have been consistently working out from home for over a year now and I love it. Being a mother of two busy teenagers, business owner and a homemaker at the same time, finding time to squeeze in a hour at the gym plus travel time was not going to happen. My husband and I decided to invest in some gym equipment for home. We started with elliptical and treadmill and a few weights. If you would like to see a post on home gym you can find it here https://domesticdiva76blog.com/2020/01/18/my-at-home-gym-setup/ This was great but I got bored and needed more. When I had a gym membership things I loved were the different variety of classes that I could do. This is when I discovered Beachbody on demand. Years ago I had purchased 21 Day Fix DVD set but never really put much effort into it. Last year around this time I reached my highest point in inactivity and decided to do something about it. There were several people on instagram that had influenced me and I pulled out the DVD set and gave it a go again. This time I loved it, went through the whole program and even though I could have repeated it I was too scared that I would get bored. So I decided to sign up for the Beachbody on Demand two week free trial. I was blown away with all the different workout programs available to me. I did 21 Day Extreme next and signed up for the year after my two weeks were up. To this day I have done 21 Day Fix, 21 Day Fix Extreme, 80 Day Obsession, Morning Meltdown 100 and couple Hybrid calendars that I have found on Pinterest combining some different programs from BOD just in between these other Programs. And I love their Yoga programs, I do these sometimes when I need an extra stretch. All this for just $119cdn a year. In my opinion best investment in myself yet. Along the way I have purchased couple more dumbbells and some bands and also some floor mats because I wore out the carpet that was where I work out. Still a lot less that I would have spend for the gym. One of the best things is also that my family uses it too. We just need to schedule ourselves well through the day to workout. I usually workout early in the morning so it is not a problem for me.

I know a lot of you think that you have to buy their shakes and sign up for challenges. But you don’t and I didn’t start there. I’m not saying they don’t work. They do for some. I believe shakes, supplements, and coaches are aids. I personally love the way Shakeollogy tastes but it is very expensive for me especially since I am located in Canada. I do buy it but only several times a year as a treat for me. I use a different shake if I want to use a shake and don’t have Shakeollogy. They can help you improve your workouts and health, but they don’t replace real work and eating healthy or actually doing your workout.

Being that we are all stuck at home now if you are looking for an inexpensive way to stay fit and on track I would say give the Beachbody on Demand a try. I am so gland I did. And FYI I am not a coach I just love the programs. If you need help figuring out how or what let me know I can send you in the right direction.

Also I wanted to mention that they do offer some great Nutrition programs but you do have to pay extra for those. I have lost 30lbs following the cups (ultimate portion fix), because no matter how much I exercise for weight loss your nutrition has to be on point. I workout for my physical and mental well being.

Are you struggling to stay on track during these uncertain times?
