Hey creative friends! Sonja here from DIYs with Sonja, and if you’re anything like me, you adore the gorgeous, curated look of high-end home decor stores like McGee & Co, Pottery Barn, and Crate & Barrel. The only problem? My wallet doesn’t always agree with their price tags!
But what if I told you that you can achieve that luxurious, designer aesthetic for pennies on the dollar? That’s right! Today, I’m thrilled to share some of my absolute favorite EASY High-End Dollar Store DUPES anyone can make! These aren’t just budget-friendly; they’re genuinely stunning transformations that will have your guests asking, “Where did you buy that?!”

In my latest YouTube video, I walk you through four incredible projects where we turn basic Dollarama and dollar store finds into elegant, expensive-looking pieces. We’re talking about saving hundreds of dollars – literally!
What You’ll Find in My Latest Video:
1. The $448 McGee & Co Window Art Dupe (for under $5!) This is probably my favorite flip from the batch! I found a simple picture frame at Dollarama that had almost identical detailing to a gorgeous McGee & Co framed art piece. With a little gilding wax (and a special dabbing technique I’ll show you!), we transform it into a show-stopping piece. Plus, you get a free downloadable print I designed specifically for this project – no need to search for expensive art!

2. The $18 McGee & Co Antique Brass Mini Taper Holder Dupe (for under $4!) Who knew a glass candle holder could look so fancy? This easy project shows you how to take a simple glass taper holder and give it a sophisticated, antique brass finish. It’s the perfect accent for your mantle or a table setting.

3. The $95 Crate & Barrel Seeded Glass Hurricane (My DIY Experiment!) I love the texture of seeded glass, and Crate & Barrel has a beautiful hurricane vase that inspired me. I experimented with a mix of Mod Podge and Epsom salt to try and recreate that look on a dollar store vase. While it didn’t turn out exactly as I envisioned (I’m always honest with you!), I still wanted to show you the process and the end result. Sometimes, DIY is about the journey and learning along the way!

4. The $74 Pottery Barn No-Sew Lumbar Pillow (for $1.50!) If you’ve been around my channel, you know I love a good no-sew project. This time, we’re taking a beautiful blue and white kitchen towel from Dollarama and turning it into a gorgeous, high-end lumbar pillow for literally the cost of the towel itself! I’ll show you a clever folding technique that eliminates the need for velcro or closures, making it super easy and clean.

Ready to See How It’s Done?
I’ve put together a comprehensive video tutorial that walks you through each step of these transformations. You’ll get all my tips, tricks, and techniques to ensure your DIYs look as expensive as the originals.
