If you adore the warm, classic, timeless feel of Ralph Lauren Christmas decor, but not the luxury price tag, today’s post is for you. I’m sharing a full collection of high end Christmas DIYs that capture the cozy, rich Ralph Lauren holiday aesthetic — think deep reds, navy greens, brass tones, tartans, textures, and vintage finishes.
Everything in this post is budget-friendly, easy to recreate, and perfect for adding that elevated, heritage-style charm to your home this holiday season.
Let’s jump in!
⭐ DIY 1 — Vintage-Inspired Ralph Lauren Frames

For the first project, I transformed simple Dollar Tree frames into rich, vintage-style art pieces that look like they came straight out of a Ralph Lauren boutique.
What I used:
- Dollar Tree picture frames
- Black spray paint
- Dixie Belle Gilding Wax (Antique Gold + Copper)
- Printable art inserts
- Scissors & tape
I began by taking the frames apart and giving the pieces a coat of black spray paint. Once dry, I applied Dixie Belle’s gilding waxes for a metallic aged finish. These waxes are buttery, highly pigmented, and perfect for adding warm antique accents. You can apply them with a brush, fingertip, or cloth depending on the look you want.
For the inserts, I designed my own Ralph Lauren–inspired artwork (you can download these for free below!). I trimmed them to size using the glass piece as my guide and secured them in place with tape.
Result:
Elegant framed art with all the classic RL colors and patterns — for a fraction of the price.
⭐ DIY 2 — Luxe Textured Ornaments (Rustic Red & Midnight Green)

Next, I created large, luxurious Christmas ornaments using Dollarama ornaments and Dixie Belle paint.
Supplies:
- Large plastic ornaments (dollarama or dollartree)
- Black spray paint
- Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint (Rustic Red)
- Dixie Belle Silk Paint (Midnight Green)
- Baking soda
- Gilding wax
I removed the ornament caps, spray-painted them, and then painted them in deep red and rich green. To achieve that high-end, ceramic-style texture, I dabbed the paint to create depth and then coated each ornament in baking soda while still wet.
Once fully dry, I brushed off the excess and added gilding wax to the topper for a vintage brass touch.
Result:
Stunning textured ornaments that look hand-sculpted and incredibly expensive.
⭐ DIY 3 — Ralph Lauren Tartan Christmas Ornaments

Nothing says Ralph Lauren like classic tartan. For this project, I wrapped smaller ornaments in tartan-printed rice paper.
You can use:
Fabric, wrapping paper, napkins, or printed rice paper.
I cut the tartan into strips, applied Mod Podge, and gently placed each strip following the natural pattern lines. Once everything dried, I trimmed the edges and replaced the topper.
Result:
Charming, heritage-style ornaments with that signature Ralph Lauren holiday pattern.
⭐ DIY 4 — Vintage Black & Gold Nutcrackers

For the final DIY, I transformed plain wooden nutcrackers into high-end, old-world-style decor pieces.
What I used:
- Wooden nutcrackers (dollarama or Amazon)
- Black spray paint
- Dixie Belle Antique Gold Gilding Wax
After spray-painting both nutcrackers black, I created two finishes:
Nutcracker 1:
Gold accents on the hat knob, face, hands, and drumsticks.
Nutcracker 2:
A fully washed gold overlay for a vintage patina look.
Both turned out incredibly elegant — rich, classic pieces inspired by Ralph Lauren’s timeless Christmas style.
